It’s the question that stops people mid-order, and it’s almost impossible to answer from a product photo. Every sticker fills the frame on a screen. On an actual bike, the same design can read as a sharp finishing touch or disappear entirely \u2014 and you can’t tell which until it arrives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So let’s answer the question behind the question. Not “how many millimetres”, but: will it look right on my bike?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Small on purpose<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first thing worth saying is that these stickers are deliberately discreet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s the whole point of the look. On a pro bike, the name on the top tube is a small detail you notice once you’re close enough to admire the bike \u2014 not a decal announcing itself from across the road. Oversized lettering is what makes a bike look stickered rather than finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want a rough sense of scale without any numbers: hold a coin. The lettering on our stickers is in the same territory as the text stamped on one. Small enough to look intentional, clear enough to read when you’re standing beside the bike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two different looks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Where you do<\/em> get a choice is between the standard proportion and the bolder one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BASIC and PRO<\/strong> use the classic pro-peloton proportion, with the flag slightly taller than the lettering beside it. It’s understated and it’s the look most riders picture when they imagine a name on a top tube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PLUS<\/strong> flips the balance. The lettering is noticeably larger \u2014 around 40% taller \u2014 and the flag comes down slightly so the two elements still sit comfortably together. The result reads from further away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That difference matters more than it sounds. If your main concern is spotting your bike among thirty similar ones at a sportive, PLUS is doing something BASIC and PRO can’t. If you want the subtle detail that rewards a close look, the standard proportion is exactly right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both are correct. They’re just answering different questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The thing nobody tells you: height isn’t the constraint<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Here’s what actually decides whether a sticker suits a spot on your bike, and it isn’t on any spec sheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The height is fixed. The width depends on your name.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six letters take up roughly half the space of twelve. Obvious once you say it, but it’s the variable that changes everything about placement. A short first name sits comfortably almost anywhere. A long surname needs a longer flat run of tube to look right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So the question isn’t really “is the sticker too big?” \u2014 it’s “does this surface give me enough uninterrupted length?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where it fits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Top tube<\/strong> \u2014 the classic, and the easiest fit by a distance. There’s room to spare here even for a long name, which is exactly why the pros use it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seat post<\/strong> \u2014 works nicely, but it’s narrower and rounder. Short names sit best. A long one will start to wrap around the curve, which looks fine from directly behind and less clean from the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helmet<\/strong> \u2014 no shortage of space, but helmets are all curves and vents. Look for the flattest continuous panel, usually the rear or the lower side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rim<\/strong> \u2014 depends on your wheels. A deep-section carbon rim gives you a generous flat band to work with. A shallow box-section rim is tight, and worth eyeballing before you commit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fork legs, stem, bottle cage<\/strong> \u2014 all viable, all governed by the same rule: find the longest flat run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want certainty before ordering, this costs nothing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Write your name on a strip of paper, keeping the letters deliberately small \u2014 think coin lettering, not headline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Hold it against the spot you have in mind.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Step back a few paces and look at the whole bike.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    You’ll know straight away whether the standard proportion reads well there, whether you want the larger PLUS lettering, or whether a shorter version of your name would sit better on that particular tube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Are all 10 stickers in a pack the same size?<\/strong> Yes. Every sticker in a pack is identical in size and design. What varies in PRO and PLUS is the lettering colour \u2014 5 white and 5 black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Will a long name look cramped?<\/strong> Not cramped, just longer. The letters stay the same height; the sticker simply extends further along the tube. Worth checking you have enough flat surface for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Is PLUS bigger overall?<\/strong> The lettering is noticeably taller and the flag slightly smaller. Overall it reads bolder \u2014 partly the lettering, partly because there’s no film rectangle framing the design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
