Roc d\u2019Azur 2027: what is confirmed?<\/h2>\n

At our check on 21 September 2026, the organiser\u2019s website still displayed the 2026 edition. Dates, entries and routes for 2027 were not yet confirmed there. This guide therefore focuses on preparation, not an assumed 2027 timetable. Check the official programme when it is released before booking your race and travel.<\/p>\n

The established event base is Base Nature in Fr\u00e9jus. Some activities have different start locations, so match accommodation and transport to the exact event you enter. Leave time for number collection, assembling your bike after travel and a relaxed final check rather than arriving straight at the start.<\/p>\n

Choose your ride before choosing your setup<\/h2>\n

A timed cross-country race and a recreational ride call for different pacing and preparation. Look beyond distance: compare climbing, technical difficulty, cut-off times and support. For an electric-bike or gravel entry, check that event\u2019s own category and equipment rules instead of treating every Roc ride as the same course.<\/p>\n

Train on terrain similar to your chosen format. Practise steady climbing, controlled braking and drinking while riding; test your food and equipment on longer outings. A familiar setup usually makes a better starting point than a last-minute change of tyres, shoes or riding position.<\/p>\n

Why Roc d\u2019Azur is more than a single MTB race<\/h2>\n

The event began in 1984 with seven participants, according to the organiser\u2019s history and concept<\/a>. It has grown into a festival described as welcoming more than 20,000 participants, around 300 exhibitors and nearly 100,000 visitors across five days. Those figures refer to the wider event, not the field of one race or a confirmed forecast for 2027.<\/p>\n

Its appeal is the combination of riding and cycling culture: cross-country competition, recreational outings, electric-bike formats, gravel and an exhibition open to visitors. A club trip can therefore include different sporting goals without everyone entering the same race. Plan shared time in the village around individual start schedules.<\/p>\n
