But, <strong>with Cerv\u00e9lo we are seeing something completely different<\/strong>. The company is based in Canada, and they are <em>younger<\/em> than many other companies out there.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Definitely, <strong>they have won a spot on the podium of bicycles. <\/strong>But, obviously, we are wondering how they did it, <strong>and that\u2019s what we will talk about today<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A quick gaze through Cerv\u00e9lo history<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is impressive to say that a company with less than 30 years of existence has proven to be better than many others with more years in the cycling market. Something that it is amazing to see is <strong>how Cerv\u00e9lo started<\/strong>. The company did not start as many other companies have in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the founders, <strong>Gerard Vroomen<\/strong>, started his dream when he was researching bike dynamics while studying at <strong>Eindhoven University<\/strong>, which he later kept studying at <strong>McGill University<\/strong>, where he met <strong>Phil White<\/strong>, the second founder of Cerv\u00e9lo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After some time, <strong>Cerv\u00e9lo was finally founded in 1995<\/strong>. Gerard and Phil started a dream in a basement and after some time, <strong>they managed to make it to the most important races in the world<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later on, <strong>Gerard sold his stake of Cerv\u00e9lo to Pon Holdings<\/strong>. But, don\u2019t think it was a wrong idea, the Dutch company has proven to know how to keep the track of Cerv\u00e9lo during the last decade.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/pegatin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/my21_r5_red_etap_axs-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Cerv\u00e9lo\" class=\"wp-image-907\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First sponsorships and the road to success<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The road to success to Cerv\u00e9lo was somehow difficult, <strong>but they achieved it<\/strong>. Their very first sponsorship was in 2003 when they worked with <strong>Team CSC<\/strong> which was, back in the day, the <strong>14th team on the world rank<\/strong>. They also managed to work with other companies such as Merlin Metalworks and Calfee Design.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The success of Cerv\u00e9lo started once that <strong>Team CSC was crowned the world\u2019s number 1 pro cycling team for more than three years<\/strong>. This truly opened the doors for a better future.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once that Team CSC and Cerv\u00e9lo were not working together anymore, <strong>they created their own cycling team<\/strong>. Known as <strong>Cerv\u00e9lo Test Team, <\/strong>they managed to work with important cyclists such as <strong>Carlos Sastre, Thor Hushovd, and Heinrich Haussler.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After some time in 2010, <strong>Emma Pooley and Thor Hushovd won the UCI Women\u2019s Timetrial and UCI Men\u2019s Rad Race<\/strong>, giving Cerv\u00e9lo a new recognition from international races.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the following years with other teams, and their most recent success was to be able to be the sponsors of the <strong>Team Jumbo-Visma<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/pegatin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/aspero-olive_dune_crank_53-1024x640.jpg\" alt=\"Cerv\u00e9lo\" class=\"wp-image-905\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important information about Cerv\u00e9lo bicycles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Talking about success is important, <strong>but how have they managed to keep it? <\/strong>Well, there\u2019s some information that is vital to know more about how Cerv\u00e9lo has worked during these years.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The very first thing that you need to know is that <strong>Cerv\u00e9lo is one of the few bicycle manufacturers that managed to produce an aluminum frame that could beat carbon fiber bicycles<\/strong>. This was made thanks to the Soloist frame, which is considered a historical bike in the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, the company didn\u2019t stop there. Thanks to the Soloist, which in fact, has an <strong>aero-road frame<\/strong>, they also won the <strong>cobbled road race classics<\/strong>. That way, <strong>Cerv\u00e9lo proved that their Soloist was in fact quite powerful<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They kept working year after year in order to improve their bikes. The company knew that other companies were working hard as well, <strong>so they didn\u2019t stop.<\/strong> Their bicycles and thanks to that, <strong>their success is still going on.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a matter of fact, <strong>nowadays Cerv\u00e9lo is the largest manufacturer of time trial and triathlon bikes in the world<\/strong>.
