La Stelvio Santini 2027 is scheduled for Sunday 6 June from Bormio. Its published road routes finish at the top of the Stelvio, with choices of 64, 108 and 130 km. The climbing and the conditions at altitude deserve attention well before you pack your bike for Italy.
La Stelvio Santini 2027: choose your route
The regulations list 64 km with 2,280 metres of ascent, 108 km with 3,050 metres and 130 km with 4,270 metres. Riders on the medium and long routes can also choose a finish in Bormio. Read the current route information before deciding which option suits your preparation.
Distance alone does not describe an Alpine ride. Compare the climbing with routes you have completed comfortably, consider your gearing and leave time to prepare for the descent. The separate gravel event is scheduled for Saturday 5 June; it is not the same entry or route as Sunday's road ride.
Check the entry documents early
The 2027 regulations require a valid medical certificate for competitive cycling, uploaded through the specified Datahealth process. There are also licence and participation conditions, with different route permissions for younger riders. Consult the organiser for your own circumstances rather than assuming another event's documents will be accepted.
The stated closing date is 30 May 2027 or earlier if the 3,000-participant limit is reached. The organiser also specifies mandatory event equipment, including a helmet, jersey, numbers and timing chip. Confirm the latest rules and collection instructions before travelling.
Climbing setup and clothing for the finish
Try your climbing gears on a sustained ascent while carrying what you plan to take. Check brake operation, tyre wear and your position on the bike. A mechanical service before departure leaves time to test any changes instead of discovering a problem on the first climb.
The organiser warns that conditions at the summit can be cold and describes a clothing-bag transfer. Read the current handover instructions and pack layers you can put on after finishing. Keep your personal kit easy to recognise among your club's equipment and plan how you will get back down.
Personalise your Alpine bike before travelling
Name-and-flag decals make a coordinated club setup personal without requiring everyone to change their bicycle. Choose a contrasting colour and check the name, surname and flag carefully in the preview. A small top-tube detail also photographs clearly when the camera is close to the bike.
Follow the application instructions on a suitable clean surface and give yourself time to check the result before packing. For the wider trip, make a checklist for documents, bike transport, shoes and clothing. Keep the event's entry confirmation separate from your shopping order.
Order ahead of your trip, allowing time for production and shipping. Check the delivery information for your destination when ordering; do not leave personalisation until the final packing day.
