We Ride Flanders 2027 takes place on Saturday 3 April. This amateur Tour of Flanders ride combines a spring cycling trip with demanding cobbles. Here is how to choose your distance, organise the start and prepare your own equipment before travelling to Belgium.
We Ride Flanders 2027: which route should you choose?
The organiser currently lists approximately 80, 130, 160 and 240 km. These are provisional distances: the final routes will be confirmed later. The three shorter options start and finish in Oudenaarde. The longest starts in Bruges and finishes in Oudenaarde. Check the official route for your chosen distance rather than assuming every option includes every famous climb.
Choose a distance you can finish comfortably on uneven surfaces, not simply the longest route you have ridden on smooth tarmac. Leave energy for repeated short climbs and slower progress on cobbles. If your group has mixed fitness, agree on the pace, regrouping points and a fallback plan before booking.
Registration and a useful plan for clubs
Registration is open through the official website, subject to available places. Prices depend on the registration tranche and may change, so check the current total and optional extras before paying. Group registration is available from ten participants.
Keep each rider's confirmation accessible and check collection instructions before travelling. Rider packs are collected in person, not mailed. The event's numbered frame plate is separate from a personalised name sticker: do not cover it, replace it or interfere with its chip. Share an accommodation address and emergency contact plan within your group.
Bruges to Oudenaarde: solve transport before race day
For the 240 km option, your start and finish are in different towns. Decide where your car and overnight bag will be before committing to accommodation. The organiser offers a bookable Oudenaarde-to-Bruges shuttle, subject to availability. Confirm the transfer direction, departure time and bicycle arrangements in your booking.
For the other distances, staying near Oudenaarde can simplify the morning. Allow time to collect your pack, prepare your bicycle and reach the start without rushing. Recheck access, parking and collection details shortly before the trip: a previous edition's instructions are not a substitute for the 2027 briefing.
Prepare your bicycle for cobbles
Before We Ride Flanders 2027, practise on suitable uneven roads at a controlled speed. Check tyres, wheels, bottle cages and luggage fittings. Use tyre pressure appropriate to your tyres, rims, weight and conditions; there is no universal pressure recommendation. Have uncertain mechanical choices checked by a qualified mechanic.
Test your clothing, repair kit and food on a longer ride. Carry layers for changeable spring weather and follow the organiser's safety instructions. Avoid making major equipment changes just before departure. A familiar, well-maintained bicycle matters more than copying a professional rider's setup.
Names and flags without confusing them with a race number
Similar club bicycles can be difficult to distinguish in shared storage or during a stop. A small personalised name-and-flag sticker gives your own equipment a recognisable detail. Position it on a clean, suitable frame area without covering serial numbers, safety markings or the event plate. Follow the application instructions and check the finish is compatible.
Coordinate names before ordering a club batch and double-check spelling and flags. Production and international shipping take time: order ahead of the journey and consult current delivery information. A sticker does not identify you to race officials, guarantee recovery of lost equipment or replace required event identification.
